If I could fit all of Paris into one apartment … Part 1: The entryway
When I think of Paris I think first of the Arc-de-Triomphe - that endlessly circling access to the city, spitting cars and bikers in a pinwheel of directions, drawing tourists to stop for a moment and gawk.

After a successful battle Napoleon the 1st said to his soldiers:
« Vous ne rentrerez dans vos foyers que sous des arcs de Triomphe »
In other words, ‘you will not return to your homes except for beneath the arches of triumph.’ Napoleon ordered the Arc’s construction directly after.
So what better way to welcome visitors into your home than creating an entryway that mimics the endless looping circles of the Arc? Check out this gorgeous statement piece used by casasugar.com in their ‘How to Create an Entryway’ piece.

This hand-crafted Sun mirror from Graham and Green is another option for 175 pounds

If you have the space in your entryway why not add a touch of “stone” to mimic les pierres of the Arc. Plus, a bench is always practical in an entry. This stone colored bench is available through www.wisteria.com for about $399.00

A duo of mini topiaries on the console completes the image of Paris in the springtime.

How would you use Paris as a theme in your home without resorting to a huge poster of the Eiffel Tower? Next I’ll turn La basilique du Sacré-Cœur into a bedroom.
